Alaska Meterological Data Stations

Using a product called Vista Data Vision, from Vista Engineering, we have developed the capability to share incoming meterological data from many different sites in and around our office here at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Below is a brief description of each site and this list will be updated as more sites become available. This is an interactive database that will allow us to share the data with our clients and anyone who is interested. If this is your first time visiting our site, be sure to visit the help page, to familiarize yourself with the available tools.
Murphy Dome Sublimation towers Mobile_Tower and Small Tower Murphy Dome are two stations which are gathering data on snow sublimation and general weather parameters. Mobile Tower is a Campbell Scientific CR5000 with a CSAT sonic 3D anemometers and Kryton hygrometer as well as sonic snow depth measurements using an SR50 and relative humidity and airtemperatures measured with vaisala HMP45C sensors. A Huskeflux heat flux plate also measures the heat flux at the snow and soil interface. Small Tower Murphy Dome is a CR10X measuring wind speeds at 1 meter and 3 meters using RM Young anemometers. Older thermisters strings are not operational at this point. Farmers Loop Met Station
Site Installed April 14th, 2007 Campbell Scientific CR1000 is measuring 2 R.M Young 05301 wind speed and wind direction. 2 Vaisala HMP45C, tipping bucket rain gauge, campbell 107 probe for ground temperature, and a SR50 sonic sounder for measuring snow depth. Table of sensor heights:
